Id like to know which guide lines do they used to determine the value of the car? Is it bluebook? Do they assume is in excellent condition, fair or good???? My unsurance is USAA.

You will get the Actual Cash Value which does not come from the Blue book. The insurance company uses outside sources like Certified Collateral Corp to determine the value. They base the value on similar vehicles in your area. It is a huge database with updated vehicle information.
Yes, they will consider the condition of the vehicle, the mileage and all options. Make sure the adjuster has all of the correct info.
You will not be offered anything for at least 30 days after you report the vehicle stolen. The insurance will wait to see if the vehicle is recovered.

It goes by bluebook, but it also goes by mileage. They normally give good condition unless there is extreme mileage, then it's fair. They never give excellent unless it's brand new.
They also wait a certain period to make sure it is not recovered. Mine was stolen and it was gone 3 weeks. They weren't going to pay until it was gone 2 months. |
