URGENT! Car help needed!?

I have a Vauxhall Corsa L Reg.I was driving up the road and my engine management light came on and the car died. It will turn over but won't fire up.Ive driven through a few puddles lately.Could it be something to do with that?It's an automatic car.Could it be something to do with the gearbox fluid? Pleeeeeeease help somebody!

Possibilities:
Out of gas.
Broken timing belt/chain.
Fuel pump malfunction.
Ignition component malfunction.

Unless you drove through water up to your axles, the puddles had no effect.

Gearbox fluid is unrelated.

Battery might be drained from all the cranking, but unlikely to be the root cause of your trouble.

Battery dead. Try jump starting it, if it works then you need to replace the battery. If it turns off while your driving that means that the battery is completely dead. That was happening to me and I thought a jump starts would work but the my car stopped again in the middle of the road and I had to get a tow truck to come help me. The next day I replaced the battery and all my problems were solved.

Could be the battery, but when my battery went the car was just dead no life from the turning the key whatsover!
