Uninsured car hit from the back and written off?

I was driving an uninsured car. an imsured driver hit me from the back at 80 km/hr and my car was written off. He accepted his fault and police gave him a ticket. There was a witness who said it was his fault as he had a lot of time to stop but he did not stop. My concern is will i get my damage reinbursed from his insurance.
Additional Details
After getting a couple of answers i would like to add that this happened in Victoria, Australia where driving a car without an insurance in not illegal.

as an uninsured driver, you are 100% to blame, no matter what caused the accident, you have no chance of getting any payment for damage to your car. Its also likely that you will be prosecuted for driving without insurance |

appears you are not at fault so the other company will pay for your damages. the fact you have no insurance has no bearing on liability.
now even though you are not required to have insurance in australia, you better buy while you can.
what if it was the other way around and you hit the other person? how would you pay them for their damages?? can you afford to pay for a new car or pay for their injuries if they are hurt. |
