My AZ driving record has never shown tickets from any other states, and Virginia obviously cannot suspend a license unless it's one of their own. That said, need I worry about the old ticket so long as I stay out of Virginia??

they could put a warrant out for your arrest, and just b/c it doesn't show up on your driving record, that doesn't mean that it won't show up with your insurance company...be careful. |

Some states will suspend your ability to renew your license if you have outstanding tickets in other states. |

You are not safe. It depends on the state's particular extradition policy. In some states, if you are pulled over and see that your license was suspended in another state and there is a warrant out for your arrest, they have the authority to extradite you to VA to face those charges. Usually this wouldn't be done for a traffic violation, but in the long run, it'd be better to pay the 150 bucks, or however much the ticket costs. |

If you didn't pay the VA ticket, and a traffic count judge in Virginia issued a bench warrant, and you're pulled over for something ... anything ... in AZ, you might be caught with the outstanding warrant. When a cop does your document check, your info goes into a general data base. If you've got something like a an open warrant, you can be arrested for the warrant, without anything being done to you at the traffic stop where the check was run. Do yourself a favor, mail the payment! |

The states have an agreement, and they DO suspend each other's licenses. So check with your local MVD office periodically, as to avoid a Driver's License suspension. Avoid trouble, and just call the VA courthouse where you were supposed to pay, and ask them what to do. Why risk it for a few dollars? |

Eventually it will catch up to you, All states are going on a nationwide network linking police and DMV reports, your best bet would be to pay it now and deal with higher insurance, rather than wait till they catch you, suspend your license and have to get SR22 insurance. |

You already have a misdemeanor on your record for a traffic violation, by not taking care of it you'll have two misdemeanors and an arrest warrent. And if Virgina puts out a warrent for your arrest. You can get nailed anywhere, VA, AZ or anywhere else you may be driving.
Simply put, pay that ticket immediately. |
