Untaxed car which is on the road, please help?

I have contacted the DVLA twice to let them know about a car that has been untaxed for the past two months and its on a public road. As yet nothing has been done, it is uninsured so if anyone bumps into them they wont be covered. They are parked outside my neighbours house and they are getting annoyed they cant park their own car outside their own house. Please could you let me know if there is anyone else I can contact to report this, the car wont even start and its annoying all residents on the street.

If the car has not been driven then report it to the local council as an abandoned car.
If the car has been driven then report it to the police.
It will often take the DVLA weeks to get around to doing anything in these cases.

We had a similar one near us and we contacted the local police and they made inquireies and it eventually went. So I go down the local police station and report it. |

I take it it's been in the same position for two months. Tell your local council. They will come along and stick a statutory notice on it, stating that they believe is is abandoned, and after that notice expires will have it removed. That's the quickest way. Telling DVLA is a long-drawn-out process and they start by sending letters to the registered keeper and it drags on forever. |

If someone drives into a parked car the damage to both cars is down to them, whether it is taxed or not. As for getting it moved, if you or your neighbours move it you are responsible for any thing that happens to it. Including parking a non taxed vehicle. So please leave it alone. Contact your Police station and your council regarding the car. The DVLA wont move it, not their job. |
