Weather related accident - Should I file a claim?

My husband slid off the road and hit a tree. There is moderate damage to the passenger side of the car, but the car is still driveable. The car is worth 6K. I think the door, rear fender, and window will need to be replaced. Is it worth filing a claim? Could we file a no fault claim?
We are either going to get the car fixed (if the damage is not too much) or buy a new car.
Any advice is welcome!

First accident in 3 years? I'd file; no major effect on rates. Otherwise i'd get an idea of the amount of repair cost and decide if it's worth it from that |

Sorry, it's not going to be a no fault claim. Although I understand the weather "caused" it, HE is going to be named "at fault". In an accident, someone is ALWAYS at fault. And there isn't any other someone who was more at fault than him.
You'll have to get estimates, to figure out if you want to fix it. If you're going to fix it, you'll probably have to file the claim. |

I don't think it's a good idea not to report it. I had a friend who had a minor accident and when he went to file the claim they noticed a nother dent in his bumper...he told them that happened a different time. The insurrance company DIDN'T PAY FOR A THING because the could tell what was from that accident or what might have been from something else that he just didn't report. |

the calim thing depends on the policy you have, and, if oyur car is worth 6k, id say get a new one |

your ins. carrier will decide if it is worth it to fix your car. file the claim thats why you pay for insurance. |
