The car is being financed by a loan company. An extra charge of $4,000 dollars added to a five year contract on $17,000 and a 3 day grace period for the monthly note. License plate, tags, taxes not in my name.

It sounds fishy to me! Contact a Department of Transportation investigator in your state or your local DMV office. What proof do you have if the car is stolen? How can you insure a car that isn't in your name? If you get a ticket and the vehicle isn't in your name is it considered a stolen vehicle?
In order to properly transfer ownership of a vehicle the lien holder must first release his interest in the vehicle. Only then can the ownership be transferred to another person. It is up to the lender to decide if you can assume the loan on the vehicle not the owner of the vehicle. |

A written or verbal contract can be up held by law in front of a judge with proof you committed to it.so you may be screwed if said or signed any thing and they can prove it. |

From my understanding of car sales..........the seller must disclose this prior to the sell and if not then you can break the contract because this vehicle does not have a clean and clear title. |
