I've heard of the good grades discount and the drivers ed class discount.
Are there any other ways?
I'm with progressive by the way, if that helps.

the way I do it is I wait till I am due for renewal then I shop around and when I find the cheapest quote I ask my insurers if they can match it, if they cannot then I do not renew and go with the new guys.
If you check out a good comparison site you get to save much time as the site will provide quotes from all main insurers.

there's more in google, they are all free and can be fun checking different insurers as they all have different prices.

expert driving courses, if availble, are often a help, as are safer makes of car and continuing to keep your record clean. But where you live and why you use the car counts, too.yes, a 3.5 GPA is a discount. your agent ought to be able to explain-although a lot of agents won't take the time. |

you fill a form and get back prices from a bunch of carriers, it saves lots of hassle, there'll be more in Google, look for comparison sites they are free to do so it pays to shop around as prices vary quite a lot for the same policy. |

Not many more discounts with Progressive.
They credit score - so, you are probably getting a benefit from your parent's credit score.
You might shop around with an independent insurance agent in your area. It all depends on your car, types of coverages (Comprehensive and collision on a newer car will be MORE than not having those coverages on an OLDER car, etc.)
