What are the consequences for breaking restrictions on drivers license?

I will be 16 in a few weeks and getting my license. I live in Wisconsin. Here if you have more that 1 other person in the car, you are breaking restrictions. What happens if you get caught or pulled over. I heard that points are doubled along with fines? Do you loose your license? Restrictions only last for 9 months right?

That law is mostly nation wide now, and for good reason. Teenagers no offense are often distracted by friends while driving, causing a majority of accidents. I'm currently a firefighter, and I see it all the time, texting, phone use, passengers those are the main causes of vehicle accidents. My question to you, why are you already contimplating on breaking a law set forth to protect your safety and the safety of the individuals who will be riding in your vehicle with you. Now ill tell you the truth, I have never seen a police officer pull over someone for having to many people in the vehicle. They usually cant tell how old you are, but head my warning friend, the law is in place for your safety, you need to concentrate on driving, not the three buddies hopping around in the backseat of your vehicle. In regards to the points on your license, if you are pulled over for a vehicle infraction (Speeding ETC.) and you have more than the amount of individuals in the car that should be, the law is going to throw a book at your face, this is a suitable offense to have your license revoked. People like to make examples of individuals these days, why risk it? get your license have fun and quite simply, dont risk having to pay fines, or losing your license which is in essence your first real man-given responsibility as a young adult. |

You will be issued a citation by the police. DMV may penalize you with other sanctions. If the officer will not allow you to continue home with unauthorized passengers, (s)he may call your parents or the other teen's parents to come & get you, the car or them.
You need to remember that driving is only a privilege, not a right. The state of WI is under NO obligation to issue you a driver's license- ever.
With that privilege comes rules & responsibilities. Violating any of them can subject your license to possible suspension or revocation. |

You are only aloud to have so many family members with you. But if it is friends and it is restricted you can have 2. If you get caught depending on how the state is they can take your permit away. If it happens a second time you wont be able to get it back til 18 or 21. Just please be careful on who you have with you. |
