It's been a year now and can't get any response from the attorney's that took my case

I would call him one more time and send a certified letter and tell her/him that since she/he has not returned your numerous calls to give you an update on your case that you are putting a complaint against her/him to the BAR association. Give her/him 24 hours to call back, if he/she doesn't google the BAR Association in your state and either call or fill out the complaint form on line. After placing the complaint with the BAR association I would then send a certified letter asking for all of my records pertaining to the case and fire the attorney and get a new one. |

Call him again. If he still doesn't return your call, get a new attorney. There are plenty of them. |

Fire him and find yourself one that will return your calls.
P.S. your new atty can subpeona all of the old atty's records if they're going to be difficult, so it won't be like starting from scratch. |

Only a year? That's nothing. People tend to forget that when they involve attorneys in insurance situations, it expands it out to an average of 5 years between claim, and settlement. |

Keep waiting. If you fire your attorney he can charge you for all the time he has invested in your case, I am assuming that this is a contingency case, if you have paid him a retainer, then by all means fire him if you feel you must, but keep in mind that law suits take a long time. |

If your attorney fails to return your calls you can file a grievance with the state bar association that you are in and they will reprimand him. It is part of the code of ethics for him to contact his clients in a reasonable amount of time. |
