i got into an accident on december 17th. the autobody shop was supposed to deliver my car on the 16 of january it is now the 19th of january and no car isthere something i can do to get some money off my deductible or a rental or something

The body shop gives you an estimate of when they think the car will be ready. That is not a date carved in stone.
Lots of stuff can happen to change the date they estimate the car will be ready. - additional damage can be found resulting in additional repair time, paint guy gets sick and calls in to work. If the paint guy ain't there to paint the car.....it won't be ready on time. Parts get ordered and when they arrive - it's the wrong part, or it got damaged in transport so the shop sends it back.
As long has there have been no unreasonable delays - the shop does not owe you anything.
I'd call the shop and speak to the body shop manager - he'll be able to tell you the status of the repair and an update on when they think the car will be ready. |

There are countless legitimate reasons for a delay in body work - parts delays (especially over the holidays), hidden damage or broken parts not evident in the original estimate and so fourth.
Be patient a while longer - you really don't want the shop to "hurry" the job. They don't want your car - they want the insurance check and the empty stall to allow them to bring in another job. |

Probably not. The time of finishing the job is an estimate, not a date set in granite. Sometimes parts are delayed in being delivered. Although the good shops will keep you in the loop and let you know if things get delayed. |

no how this works is if the repairs are 3500 and your deductible is 500 they pay 3000 and you pay 500. And delivery is an estimate based on many different things. You still have to pay the agreed price. |

No way. The time to repair is an estimate not a guarantee. You can pester them until you get the car. You can also call your claims adjuster that handled your claim they may be able to help.r |

Your deductible is the agreement between you and your insurance. The shop may have a true problem that has occurred since the cannot deliver your car. IE insurance has not paid the bill, part that is not in yet. Contact the shop and ask why it has taken longer than you expected. You may need to get involved in the claim to expedite something. Just talk to them |

no. you can not get you deductible reduced. that is an agreement with your insurance company, not the body shop. also, the delivery date is just an estimated time of delivery, not a promise date. though the body shop is supposed to keep you informed of the repair progress. |
