If you don't want to deal with the DMV, you're not going to be able to get new Arizona plates.
The make, vehicle identification number (VIN), body style and other general vehicle information must be verified at an MVD or authorized Third Party office prior to registration.

Are you buying it from a dealer? If so, the dealer can get a temporary license plate for a non-resident, usually good for sixty days. During that time, you'll have to register it in your state of residence.
I've seen it here in New Jersey occasionally for car buyers who live in a neighboring state, e.g., Pennsylvania, and will drive it back home, where they will register and insure it. |
