My friend was driving my car and rear ended someone when I was in the passenger seat. It wasn't really his fault, I might have not been able to stop in time either but should I make him help me pay for my damages? Please help.

If you are insured and he was insured under your policy you could always sue him for damages you suffered as a third party...weirdly your insurers will be paying..but if you were hurt...get even. |

Speak with your insurance agent. You should definitely ask him to at least help pay for the damages, since there is pretty much no way you can rear end someone and not end up paying for it. |

Maybe not MAKE him help you (at first), but ASK him. If he has a conscience, he will voluntarily help. If he resists, or refuses, take him on the Judge Judy show. |

Might not have been his fault? Put that out of your mind and accept the fact that he didn't stop in time and it's his fault. So you know that your insurance will pay for the other person's damages, do you have collision coverage that will pay for yours? If so, why don't you ask him to chip in on the deductible? But don't expect it. |

Never ever let someone else drive your car because you are responsible no matter who is driving because it is your car and by the way if they are a friend then you shouldn't have to make them help you pay they would volunterily.Good luck friend. |
