I agree Keith, we are too Lyed back in this country and we should protest more, but to be honest any protest that we do have in this country these days seems to be a half arsed attempt at protesting at best.

I agree whole heartedly that the government have consistently gone after the driver and blamed all the woes of Polution, Global warming and Congestion on the car and the poor driver when the truth of he mater is that this is clearly not true.

In the first Place. We already pay road Tax but that money doesn't go in to a pot which is then spent only on roads and public transport it goes into a pot that the government can dip into and spend as they please which is wrong especially if they then feel that they can Tax us more in other ways because there is now not enough in the pot.

Public transport is a disgrace in this country. If I get a train in to London it will cost me Â£24 return and the chances are I will not get a seat, The trains are hot and overcrowded and the Tubes are worse that is why I won't use them unless I have to.

Gobal Warming, Congestion and Polution. The biggest Poluters in this country are the big businesses. the government should go after them more with taxes for pollution and incentives for greener policies. Lorrys and comerical vehicles should be Taxed by the mile and given tax breaks for greener vehicles.

Vehicle Manufacturers should be given incentives to build green, electric vehicles and penalised for not doing the technology is there so why do they not use it.

The govenment could pass a bill to say that by 2012 for example comercial vehicles have to be hybrid or electric other wise the companies will incurr hefty monthly fines until this is achieved.
The reason we don't protest though is that we are generally apothetic to the way we are ripped off in this country because as bad as things are we are still pretty affluent in comparison to other countries and whilst we are dismayed with the way things are we just can't be arsed to do anything about it and as such the government get's to do what they please when they please such as Blatantly lying to us and taking us in to an illegal war that we the people did not support. If we were starving there would be riots, we are just not hurting enough to stand up for ourselves

We are caught and conned every which way..I'm sure none of us like it and rebel where possible but you tell us how to change it and we'll be there !!!!!!!

Take those shades off Keith and open your eyes to certain realities of life. Using a car costs money in many ways no matter where in the world you are. Quit your ranting and live on a desert island if you dislike it all so much.

Your little spiel is full of spelling errors and bad English, but you know, you are right, mostly. We are FAR too accepting of the crap that this government has poured on us. Sky high taxes on everything, cameras watching our every move, our services swamped by illegal migrants, rubbish festering in the streets, and fat-cat MPs teating us like half-wits! Let's do what we should do, and vote the SOB's into oblivion. Let's go one step further and tell the government, en masse, that we want a General Election. Right NOW! We don't want Gordon Brown as our Prime Minister.

As for all you who say get a bus one every hour none after 530 pm to get home will wages go up as it is more expensive than travelling by car he price of food will go up or how does the food arrive in the shops post will cost more and so goes the vicious circle once again just think what trartport is used for

i also signed the online petition, agree with a lot of what you say and would like to point out to all the people who suggest using public transport that we dont all live in cities/towns. i live in the north of scotland and you are lucky if there is an hourly bus during the week and more than two at the weekend. the neareast train station to me is over 30 miles away and the area i cover in my work is probably spread out over 200 square miles. of course i could do this on a bus

Jack of all trades seems to think you are from USA obviously failed to read the question, but that is no surprise, they all seem to think there is no world beyond the fifty states....I agree with you, there should be some sort of civil disobedience about the every increasing charges on the motorist..It worked with the poll tax, why not with these charges...the problem is that the Govt always has the upper hand as we do need our cars for work, recreation and the public transport system is abysmal...Wish someone would start an independant road action party at the next election, I would vote for them as a protest vote....

Well KEITH, I don't think a lot about your stupid rant! Have you wondered how you can minimise the effects of all those charges you seem to complain about? Public transport!! MY OTHER CAR IS A BUS!!
