the cost of your insurance depends on more than where you live, what you drive and your driving record. You can get cheaper insurance rates if you have what they call a multi-line discount(a policy that covers your car and house, or your car and renters insurance)

But your credit score has an effect on your premium amount also, so just check around in your area, because what is cheaper for one person may not be cheaper for another. And befor you change insurance companies, check out exactly what you are getting, you may want to pay the least amount of money(who doesn't) but sometimes you aren't as "covered" as you think you are, so check into exactly what the cheaper policy covers befor you commit to one company over another. You may find out that you may pay a few dollars more each month, but you come out WAY ahead if you should ever need the insurance to pay up in the event of an accident or claim.

I've checked multiple times over the past several years, and for me anyway, Geico has always been the cheapest. I haven't had any problems with them either.

I'm assuming you are talking auto. Allstate is not necessarily the cheapest, but there are lots of little details that the rates depend on.

What is your driving and claims record? Where do you live (and is it a high crime or high accident area)? What kind of vehicle is it? And do you have multiple vehicles on one policy, or multiple policies (homeowner's, general liability, etc.) with the same insurance carrier?

Many motorists will see an auto commercial and want to switch their auto coverage, not realizing that they will probably have to shop the homeowner's at the same time, or their rates on this companion policy will shoot up and erase any savings they might have gotten by switching. You really have to do your homework.

I would suggest going to one of the online free quote comparison sites and doing some shopping, OR finding a local independent agent that you trust to do that for you. If he/she wants your business, the agent will work hard to find the best carrier to fit your particular situation and budget.

Different carriers are preferred for different regions of the country.

I looked all over and the cheapest I found was Progressive. Very good rates, and good coverage. Geico was almost $150 every six months more!!

If you are going for liability try titan auto insurance. They are really cheap! If you are going full coverage try all state. That's who I use and I love them!

I have gotten several quotes in writing and State Farm gave me the best deal. I pay $37 a month for a 2007 Tacoma. Yes I really do. I have immaculate driving records, though.

AIS is an agency that represents several carriers(insurance companies). You can go online and quote several companies at the same time. But remember if you have accidents, tickets etc. on your record they will find out and that can affect the quote. You might find that what you have now is better than other companies, so do your research.

If you are military or have military in your family go with USAA. Fantastic company, great coverage and affordable. I have full coverage on a new car, (I mean completely full + road side assistance, uninsured motorist coverage etc.) and liability on another car. With that and my renters insurance I pay 96 bucks a month, I've never been in an accident (not that the police were called or insurance that were claimed) and I am 24.
