What does a hit on your drivers license mean?

It could mean a couple of things.

In this context "You're going to take a hit on your license." would mean that you are doing something that will get you a citation & points on your license.

If the police get a "hit" on your license means that your license has been flagged by DMV. This could be from having a suspended/revoked license, there could be outstanding unpaid citations/warrants for your arrest, unpaid child support/child support in arrears are just a few things that can get your license flagged by DMV.

it means that you have gotten points towards your driving record the more points you get the more likely to have your license suspended.
