If you have a limited mileage policy, then they would have asked you your mileage at the time the policy started or renewed.
If you reach your mileage limit, you are no longer insured. You will have to tell your insurer, they will charge you an extra premium to continue your policy.
If you do not tell them, any claim will be rejected. and, although you will be shown as insured on the police computer, you are technically uninsured, and can be prosecuted as such. |

Just phone them up and let them know, it probably won't cost you much extra, and certainly not as much as if you had to make a claim and they found out, which they would. |

Your MOT will have last years mileage on it.They CAN check this.
If you have gone over your stated limit and then have an accident, then the insurance will calculate what % of the claim they will be liable for. ie.If you tell them you will do only 10000miles a year and then have a bump after doing 30000 then they will maybe only pay out a third of the claim. |
