If it's a new car, you can invoke the "lemon law", which would give you some rights, but it varies from state to state.
If it's a used car, you are SOL, as it usually comes with caveat of "as is".
If you turn it in and refuse to pay it, it'll be reflected in your credit history as a repossession as you *did* sign the contract to buy it.

It will go on your credit record as a reposession. Your credit will be trashed. You will have to make up the difference between what you owe and whatever they sell the car for. They'll tack on fees for storage and processing that will be added to your outstanding debt. Then it will be wholesaled off, probalby though an auction house. So now you'll have no car, no credit, and a large debt to pay. |

if you just recently bought the car you have some rights, especially if it is new. If you have had it for a month or more you are stuck with it in most cases. Do not just turn it in or leave it with the dealership becuase the car will still be in your name and if you do not make the payments it will go against your credit. |

Actually, they entrusted you with thousands of dollars. They are your friend, for now. Take your problems to the repair shop and stand up to your debt. |

They inspect the car all around and inside and figure out the damage depending on the size or amount of, after that they assess what you will be charged or deducted for that. Sometimes you get lucky, but if it is all that bad on the outside, try turning it in on a rainy day- lol |
