What happens if my insurance company is the same as the other driver?

What happens if i have an accident and i want to go forward and the other driver does the same?
Will my insurance company go to court against itself??
Will they advise each driver to accept responsability, raise the premium and say nothing?
Do they bennefit? How?

i know what you all are saying but my point is: - When everything is sorted, we (both involved) will pay more insurance premium, therefore, the company will profit from 2 when it should from only one.

This should mean that you are able to settle your claim much more efficiently than if you have two different companies to deal with, so it works in your favor.
People have absolutely NO IDEA just how highly regulated the insurance industry is. They can be and are audited by each state's DOI (Department of Insurance) ALL THE TIME. If ANYTHING is found to be unfair or outside regulated guidelines in any way that company pays very stiff fines (in the $1000's of dollars for each and every occurrance) so WHY ON EARTH would they "advise each driver to accept responsibility, raise the premium and say nothing?"!!! They could lose their right to even do business in that state!! Get REAL!!!

They usually manage to settle those claims a bit more amicably. Fault will be assigned in the normal manner; it will always have a different adjuster working each case.

They usually do benefit as there's much less chance of big attorney's fees.

insurance companies are usually fair at working out who pays what.Just claim as usual and they will sort it out

Any number of things can happen. Depending on who was at fault, that's whose policy gets dinged.
Or the insurance company can decide "no fault" and settle equally dinging both or neither persons' policy.
I sued "my own" ins policy once--the other guy had the same ins company as I had, and I didn't like how they handled my claim so I sued them. It went against HIM, his policy, NOT MINE.

I dunno - but I expect they are covered by rules adn regulations to prevent that sort of thing. I'd be more worried about house sales and purchase being handled by the same company

Amazingly, it makes the whole process more surreal when they write to you saying the other persons insurance company won't pay up for some reason or other. Yes, they will even take themselves to court too.

It is the way of the world unfortunately. If they do go knock for knock and you feel that is wrong then tell them that you will not accept that as a solution.
As a last resort contact the Insurance Ombudsman to look into the matter

I was involved in an accident earlier this year.
The lady that crashed into me was with the same isurance company as me (Tesco).
I just claimed against her insurance as normal with no problems whatsoever.

Just file a claim as normal and the company will work out the problems. You only need to worry about court if you need to sue your company, but that is no different than any other case.
