i was parked in a supermarket when i came out a lady claimed i had bumped into her car... there were some scraches which was vertical not horizontal... and there were no...marks on my car having any scraches or being rubbed against some other object as there were some dust with water dried....
it was my company car... so i didn't want my company to know about it so i told her i would pay her but she didn't agree and police came.... i did't had my insurance paper with me at that time and police asked me to submit to them in 7 day which i did...
now my managers know about it and... she is asking 400 pounds ... no paint loss or anything... (03 plate wad her car mazda 6)
what should i do? should i pay?

Why on earth did you offer to pay for something you didn't do? That effectively admits liability. You need to tell your employers and their insurers exactly what happened. It's a common scam for people with damaged cars to take them to a car park and try to claim that another driver did the damage. |

Do not accept responsibility - your Insurance Company tell you never to do that in their documentation. Tell your company & your Insurers that she is making a false claim against you & let them sort it out. If you did not do it, she will have to provide the proof. Certainly don't pay for something you didn't do. That's a mug's game! |
