What happens if you don't get car insurance?

Some (not all) of what can happen is: you work the rest of your life paying for an accident or injury(s). You go to jail, you pay a hefty fine, you are mocked here on YA, you lose respect... and much, much more. You got stupid answers because it is a stupid question

In the UK, you will get the vehicle confiscated and crushed. Disqualification is possible but 6 points endorsed on your licence, they stay there for 4 years. A criminal record is guaranteed, this has an enormous effect regarding employment etc. You would find future insurance premiums greatly increased. You could face imprisonment. Should you be involved in a collision whether to blame or not, the costs will be against you. With 'number plate recognition' cameras are common in towns and many police vehicles are equipped with such. DON'T risk it!

you can lose your car and drivers license also you could get a big fine.. if you get in a wreck then you would have to pay an out of pocket expense for the car...

Between 6 and 9 penalty points and a fine
I got 6 points and a hundred pound fine
Also it is easier to get stopped for no insurance now with most police cars having ANPR cameras
Also the guilt if you hurt/killed someone.

you'll get a ticket and if *knock on wood* you get into a car accident your license will be suspended for a year if you don't have insurance.

if you get in a wreck and its your fault, you have to pay for everything out of your own pocket, and the people can sue you on top of that. Your registration can also be cancelled once they realize you dont have insurance, also when go to get insurance, you have to do this form called an SR22 and i think your rates are higher because of it.

I was driving around for a long time without any insurance at all, never had a problem, I met a very good friend who insisted me to get an insurance, he pointed me into the right direction, he taught me how important it is and how irresponsible it was of me not to have it.
I would never again drive a car without insurance, never and don't even think about driving around without it.
It cost you money but I tell you it feels great and it is very worthy to have it
Get third party at least, you would save huge amounts of money should something happen
I got full insurance, is just 20 dollars per week and I'm very happy with it, stick to the same insurance provider and they will charge you less over the future years, look for the best ones

if you get caught by police even for routine check you will have your car taken away immediately, if you have an accident you could end up in serious trouble, not to mention out of pocket and if its a serious accident you could end up in jail and banned from driving

Just like whet you rob a bank and don't get shot nor get caught, nothing will happen.

Same as when you run a red light and don't run over anyone nor get ran over nor get any camera to get your info, nothing happens.

Or you could hit a policeman in the head with a baseball bat and run for it and by a stroke of luck they don't get you and nobody recognizes you, nothing happens.

well if you were to get pulled over you'd receive a ticket for "proof of insurance" let alone if you got in an accident you'd be toast
