With my insurance, I have to notify them of an accident. The police don't do anything but file a report. If the other party is paying for the damage, you don't have to report the accident to your company. |

their insurance should be responsible? but are you positive they were considered at fault? were they written a ticket? also were you written a ticket for no proof of insurance? did the policeman know that your policy was not valid? the police will not call the insurance company. Also, if the other driver was faulted you need to be calling hi insurance company instead of yours. But I'd be careful to never let my policy get cancelled again. It can get you in lots of trouble |

Just keep your mouth shut if it was his fault your insurance company need not know or anyone else for that matter, if the police find out you can and will be chargesd for driving with out insurance, the you dident know excuse wont work with a cop. Just dont say anything and and you may get away with it |

As long as the other guy's company pays, you're fine. If any of the expense comes your way, however, your company will NOT cover you- at all. |

If the other person files a report with their insurance the accident will be investigated. If they find their driver to be at fault they will pay the claim. If they find you to be at fault and you try to file it with your company they will investigate and deny the claim when they discover the policy was not in force at th time. The cops will not notify the insurance company that is the responsibility of those in the accident. |

I work for a BIG insurance company taking auto claims...file with the other parties insurance...if the other party doesn't want to pay then you can make your insurance company aware of the incident...usually the cops DO NOT report the incidents to insurance companies...if anything the other parties company might report it to your company...~V |

If it is their fault then your not having insurance at the time of the accident is irrelevant. |

You weren't aware that your insurance had been cancelled, but I'll bet you WERE aware you hadn't paid the bill. You could be up the proverbial creek, pal. You might be okay if the cab driver's policy covers your car. Didn't you have to provide proof of insurance at the accident scene? |

You're screwed...you should have paid the bill, which I'm sure you recieved...because you had no insurance at the time of the accident, you are not covered for that incident.
