i was caught by police yesterday driving a friends car im only a provisional driver and hes not insured 4 me
but what happens to my licence now im just taking my lessons iv not passed my test yet wont i be able to take lessons now will i get pionts on my licence b4 iv even got one or will i be band 4 a year?

It all depends on if you are cited. When you are a provisional driver you need to be driving with a person who has at least 2 (or was it 4) years of driving under their belt. They do not need insurance for you. If you wrecked the car, their insurance would cover for the damage. That's how insurance works. You are only in trouble with driving ( I presume) with someone who is too young to teach you to drive. Unless the police wrote you a citation, you should be fine. And even if he did write a citation, most likely it will just mean a delay in your license (if any at all.) Most likely it's just a slap on the wrist. But please drive with qualified adults. You are learning to drive and need someone experienced to help you through this, not a friend who just learned how to drive too. |

it all depends on how u blag it when they take u to court, you will still get the driving with no insurance charge which will be at least 6 points n a couple of hundred quid, but if ur freind is older u could try saying they were giving u a lesson. it wont change the charges but u might not get a ban.plus my 20 odd points didnt carry from my provisional n when i got my pink 1 it was clean. basically if u can get out of the ban u'l be ok. |

You'll probably get points on your license, which will carry forward when you pass your test.
And you need insurance, someone elses insurance doesn't cover you unless is says in their insurance papers that anyone can drive including a learner driver. Seriously doubt it will. |

You may not be able to get your license now. If you were issued a citation, you'll need to appear before a judge. Depending upon the laws of your state (and the judge) will determine that!
