You don't pay it, it goes on file with the court, the court will send you a court date, you don't show up, the court puts a warning/warrant on your license, you get pulled over you get a warning to pay it or possibly a free ride in a police car. YAY! Pay the ticket.

Depends on how lax or aggressive the police are where you got the ticket.

In my city, a police officer drives around every couple nights with a list of cars with a lot of unpaid tickets. If your car is on the list, you get the boot., which is a big lock that fits over ther tire. To get it removed costs about $250.00 plus the outstanding fine.

Just pay the ticket.

That depends entirely on where you live. In NYC, if you don't pay a parking ticket within the 30 initial days, than you receive a late notice which has an additional penalty. If after 60 days you still haven't paid it, than another penalty gets added on. At this point, after 90 days, the summons will not get any further penalties, but interest begins to accrue. Once you owe a certain amount (> $350), then you become a "scofflaw".

A "scofflaw" vehicle can be picked up anywhere, anytime by the NYC Marshal's Office, and then you will have to pay for the tow, storage, processing fee & the ticket before they give you your car back. If you owe the City a great deal of money, they will contact your employer and attempt to garnish your wages.

In Nassau County, which is east of NYC, for an unpaid parking ticket, the Nassau County Parking Violations Unit will suspend your NYS driver's license or your privilege to operate in NYS (if you have an out-of-state license or don't have a license).

Also, if you reach a certain level of back/unpaid parking tickets, NYS DMV can suspend your registration. This is a misdemanor if you continue to drive around and a 2nd misdemeanor if you fail to turn in your plates and/or comply by paying your parking tickets.

well if you live in the city of memphis, tn. absolutely nothing!!!! they do stories on the news constantly where people haven't paid their parking tickets and nothing is done about it. the city is in debt i think at least $250,000 or some high number like that from unpaid parking tickets... WAY TO GO KING WILLIE!!!!! GREAT JOB!!!!!

It depends on where you are. It is a minor offense but still an offense and you could be summoned to court

Then you'll probably be fined. Then if you don't pay that, you'll be arrested temporarily. Atleast, that's what happened to a friend of mine.
