Your insurance will vary depending if you want fully comp or third party with fire and theft or third party only.
So, roughly it'll cost you between a grand and 5 grand. Actually there was a chap with a smart roadster and he was quoted 7.5 grand.
To get priced, you just take what are called "quotes".
That means going to an insurance site and filling in a form, they will then come up with a price.

also get yellow pages out, look under "car insurance" then phone everyone.
Or just go with the first quote but prices do vary a lot between insurers, choice is yours. |

Whoever they're insured with--at 17, that's your only choice, no matter what it costs. At 18, you can legally get your own insurance, but it won't be any cheaper--in fact, probably more expensive. No company wants to be competitive on 18-year-olds. |
