a repairer who is approved by the insurer

insurer has inspected garage and found price and quality of work to be of a good standard

an approved repairer is someone your insurance company favours for doing work. so if you have an accident, they recommend you take it to an apporved repairer, cause this can also mean you have to pay less excess. if you are unsure who your in surance company's approved repairer is/are, get in touch and find out.

The insurers willl have a list of approved repaireers. people they are happy to fix the thing

like if you damage a car they may say witch garage to take it to so you dont go to a dodgy garage and get a crap fix or get them to add money to the bill for you.

An insurance company determines who they want to do repairs for claims of its policyholders. Usually the approved repairer has been screened for quality and has cut a rate for all insurance company policyholders.

usually it refers to a repairer that has been vetted and "Approved"as a competent repairer by the insurance industry and therefore gets work from them

This is where a car repairer has been approved by your insurance company. They have reached the required standards in order to repair a vehicle.

Insurance companies have a list of "Approved Repairers", meaning under the terms of your insurance the repair has to be done by one of these.

An "approved repairer" is a body shop your insurance company considers reputable. This would normally be a shop they would suggest you use when getting your vehicle repaired. Generally when you use an approved repairer you will get some type of guarantee from your insurance company that if you are not happy with the claim they will repair it again.

You can take your vehicle to any shop you choose to be repaired. I would advise taking the vehicle to an "approved" shop because if you are not happy with the repairs you just tell your insurer. If you go to a shop that isn't approved, and you are not happy with the repairs, well your insurance company is going to tell you to take that up with the repair shop yourself.

An approved person is someone who is approved and certified in the area of work they are in, ie to work at a certain standard and is approved to be able to do this by a governing body - this way you can ensure they are not a cowboy!
