I am 18 and i live in ct and i have my permit even tho it expired when i turned 18 but i was wondering do i still need a permit to drive with my parents and cant i just take the test and get my licence

You should be able to renew your permit without too many complications.(Most states have a real simple process to renew your permit. Contact your local DMV office or go to their website to see what the exact steps are for you)

It has to be valid to legally drive any car with a qualified driver with you & when you go to take your skills test.
