Well there is no "Basic" amount to spend on a car. It all depends what you are looking for. For cheap economic cars you can find em for 10k-12k like the nissan versa or honda fit. They dont come with much power, but are good on gas a pretty safe. The more goodies you choose like XM radio, leather seats, power windows, etc will boost your price up. Try going to major automotive websites like toyota or nissan and find the "Build Your Car" option. You can literally put together your car with whatever options and it will tell you the price at the end. As for the other expenses, it depends if you buy from a dealer or from a private party. Check out www.dmv.org. This site will tell you all your need to know about registration, plates, titles, out of state buys, taxes, really anything you need to know about buying or selling a car. I have no idea what country or state of the US you are in. Ill think as if you are in my state in the US. So go online and search for the states dept of motor vehicles to get more detailed info. Registration is based on the year and value of the car. Inspection fees will be listed and the types needed and how to drive in and obtain or how to make the appt. From 150 to 500 to guess. |
