Brenton, For auto insurance the quickest method to get a free quote is do a auto policy comparison. Be sure to choose the same coverage levels, you can get an accurate quote to compare against others. Use the same zip code, car make/model, mileage and driving history to make sure you get an apples to apples comparison. To get fast auto insurance quotes, go to http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Auto-Insurance-Quote.html and you can compare all the major auto insurance companies. |

Hi Brenton,
I would get your own insurance. If you get put on your parents insurance they assume a lot of extra risk. Not to mention it is good to start getting your own credit established. It will help you a lot in the long run. Check out the source I listed below. They offer great insurance rates and do not charge a bunch extra for being a young driver.
Good luck! |

The cheapest and easiest is to be listed on your parents policy. At your age, you'll find it very hard to find a company that would insure you on your own anyways. |

April is right.
People are putting out a lot of miss-information. At 16 you can have your own insurance. Some company's may not allow you at 16 but that is just there company policy.
Good Luck in your search :) |

Well Brenton... i found a site i liked, even though you have a ton of answers. 5-10 minutes tops - took my zip and my car info and found the best providers. I got a low quote - saving me almost 30 dollars a month. So i would check it out man.

Hello Brenton,
The cheapest and easiest way is to put the car in your parents name and add it to their insurance. By adding the car to your parents insurance policy you will be taking advantage of several discounts, such as, prior insurance history, credit history, multi-car, and other discounts depending on the insurance company. A change such as adding a vehicle with a youthful operator will cause a significant adjustment in premium. This is a good time to shop around for different rates. One company I suggest you try is Mercury Insurance. Its been my experience that this company offers competitive rates to families with multi cars and youthful operators. If you recieve a good rate from Mercury don't stop there, try several companies. Good luck. |

You're only 16, you cannot legally sign an insurance contract. You have to be listed on your parents policy. You'll never find an insurance company to insure you on your own until you're 18. Also, you may be paying for the car you're purchasing but the vehicle won't be legally yours either because you're under age and you're not a licensed driver... yet. Who ever finances or signs the title for the car should get insurance and you should be listed as an insured driver.
There is no best agency.... they're all good. You need a personal agent instead of a 1-800 number like Geico or Progressive. And you need high liability limits because I'm sure you'll eventually cause an accident and not have enough insurance to cover any damages |

car-insurance.22web.net - try this one. I personally have their car insurance, cause it is the cheapest for my family in our area.
As I know they have lowest rates for teens and first time drivers. |
