What is the car rental company that you can request what kind of car you want?

i have had good luck from Avis in the past,when we go on vacations we use a rental,and they always seem to have what we need or want,you might want to they them,good luck with it.

Most all of them, you can ASK

but what they have available is another topic.

... Tell them you want automatic ... or manual
... a 4 door sedan, or an SUV
... a big car, or a little one
.. A Ford, Honda, or whatever brand name
... a particular model

The more specific you are, the less likely thay have that particular available right now

The more general your request, the more likely you get what you ask for

All of them will try to honor your request- if thery have what you want.

Hertz was owned by Ford, so it was quite easy to get a Ford from them . although they did have a few Chevvies.

NONE of the major rental companies will guarantee to provide a particular make and model of car, although the will of course try to accommodate your request.

Generally, you can only reserve a category of car (such as Ford Focus or equivalent), and you may be given something quite different, but of a similar size.

If they do not have the category you asked for, the will usually give you a vehicle from a higher group.

You can play this to your advantage! I remember some years ago, Alamao Rentacar in the USA used to have the Geo Metro (same as the old Suzuki Swift, and just as nasty), but they usually never had any available, so you could safely reserve a cheap Swift, and be given a better car.

Do be careful - I remember an occasion when Alamo tried to palm me off with an Oldsmobile when I had reserved (and paid for) a Cadillac. Although they at first claimed they had no Cadillacs, when I started to make a fuss the manager miraculously found a brand new one in the lot.

If you are offered a car which you really do not like, or with which you have had bad experiences, tell the agent, and they will usually try to help.
