Depends on what state you live in and how old you are. In MN, you can get your permit at 16 but you have to take drivers ed and pay for it. then you drive for like 6 months with that and then you can take a behind the wheel test, pass, then get your drivers licence. After 18 you dont need classes. You just take the written test, get your permit, 3 months later you can test for your drivers licence. Every State is different. Check with your local DMV for your states. |

you need to get a provisional licence first
then arrange driving lessons, then when you are ready
sit the Theory Test and when you have passed that,
you apply to sit the Practical Driving Test |

first licence you can apply 3 months before your 17th birthday.you get your licence and you book lessons,meanwhile you swat like made with the DVLA code book...theory test is around £20[that's pt1]...meanwhile you've had a few lessons and the instructor applies for your test date...you take it and pass.....jobs a good'n. |
