If you mean legally it varies from state to state, country to country. As a whole I'd tend to say 15 1/2 if you are in a school driving program with a "leaner" permit. Otherwise it's 18 unless you've passed a "driver Ed" program in the US, in which cast I think it's 16 or 17 or 17 1/2 for a learner permit.
In some situations 15 year olds can get a limited license if they pass the tests. The license is limited for driving to and from work or school.
In some states you can get a full license at 16. |

Some international specs: http://www.2pass.co.uk/ages3.htm
US specs: http://golocalnet.com/drivingage/ (avg. = 16; 14 in South Dakota...I wonder if that's just for those driving farm equipment though...) |

you can drive at any age, just not without a parental guide and out on a highway. As long as you stay in the neighborhood. The minimum age to get a driver's liscense is 16, and some states 15. |

In some states, they allow students to get a school permit at age 14, they are allowed to drive by themselves to school & school functions. In most states, a drivers permit is not given until the age of 15 and then they must still have a person in the car above the age of 21 and has been driving for over a year. At the age of 16 you are able to get your actual driver's license, but in some states you are only allowed to drive family members and only one person under the age of 18 that is not related to you until you have been driving for six months. |

it varies by your state laws. In kentucky you have to be 16 with a learners permit and a driver inside the car past the age of 21. |

In missouri (at least it used to be), you can be 15 and a half with a permit and someone over the age of 21 in the car with a license. Or you have to be 16. |
