What is the penalty for driving without insurance in the state of Utah?

This is my first time getting a ticket; I must appear in court(are there any tips i could use to reduce my fine?)
I picked up a insurance policy the very next day though.
I dont know if i should plead guilty or not guilty...

If you didn't have insurance at the time you were pulled over, then you are guilty. There's no "gray area" here. You either had insurance or you didn't.

This site will explain it to you but yes you should get insurance to show the judge that you do understand and since you did not have insurance you can only plead guilty.....
