You don't mention if the sale if private or dealer, however:
If through dealer: they will handle the "tax and tags" aspect. They are going to put those fees directly into the price. You will be able to drive off the lot with the car registered to you.
If through a private sale: You must go to your Department of Motor Vehicles. You must have a bill of receipt so you can be assessed your tax. You must pay your tax in order to register the vehicle. You'll have to do all this yourself should you not go through a dealer. You also have to pay the tax in full (cannot Finance it) |
