What should be my approach while talking to car insurance companies on phone?

Do i have to guarantee them that I'll buy theirs for them to start explaining everything to me? or can i say i'll come back and stuff? what should i exactly be doing, any help?

btw, i've looked for online quotes already and made a shortlist of some companies with the cheap ones!

hey TOON FOR EVER, i did read what u answered b4, but i might get a reduced premium because of some informations i'll tell them, which are not asked in all the online quotes; like pass plus, security features, good grades; i couldn't find all these options in most of the companies i chose, so i'm just playing around right now. So, don't worry, i'm not going to waste my money :)

You're the boss, it's your money. Yes you can say I'll come back, then phone another company and so on and so forth and play them off against each other.

Ask them what they have to offer and to explain to you everything that is covered and what is not. See if there is a sample policy online. You don't have to guarantee anything.

If you already have auto insurance, ask how theirs is better.

Also, check the companies out with the online BBB or the BBB in the state where they operate. Also, check with your state Attorney General to see if there are any complaints against them.

I've never bought online but we've never actually gotten all the information we probably needed before we bought; however, ours have been established companies with years of experience.

you dont need an approach, you need about a 30% deposit of the insurance premium. you dont have to promise anything cause they will quote you the best rate you are entitled to as per your 'drivers abstract' (a record of your driving infractions, if any). some companies have the nerve to use your credit score like as if that has something to do with your ability to operate a car responsibly. you should be aware that these companies can quote you as much as $700 differently. try and get as many quotes as possible.

You can tell them you are shopping around and they will explain everything anyways since they want you to buy their insurance. AIG, GEICO, ALLSTATE and others have free online quotes where you wont have to talk to no one and there is no commitment. Just don't feel pressured to getting something you don't want. And remember, when comparing prices, make sure you have the same coverage on all so that you know you are comparing similar policies.

Go online, calling the company will have you loose your online discount if one is applied, i used to work for churchill, people would get the quote online then call up for a phone quote just to make sure its cheaper online, dont bother callin them, anyone that did it with churchill paid 10% extra!

For car insurance the most efficient way to get a fantastic rate is do a rate comparison on car policies. Make sure that you choose similar options with the same deductibles, car model, location, etc so that all options are a good comparison.
