I turn 16 next month, and in order for me to get my permit my parents are making me pay for my own car insurance. i would be driving my moms car which is an 06 Honda Element. i know that for good grades discounts are also offered, i have a continuous 4.0 gpa. does anyone have any idea of the prices i should expect?

Hi,
Most companies are going to charge you quite a bit because you are an inexperienced driver. Try the source I listed below, they don't increase rates a ton based on age. You can probably get full coverage insurance with them for around $100 a month less for liability but since it's your moms car she'll probably want you to have full coverage. Also, if you can take a defensive driving course or drivers education it can lower your rates quite a bit. I know what your dealing with I went through the exact same when I was 16 and had to pay $200/month just for liability on a beat up old car so it'll be more for your relatively new/nice car. Check out the company I listed. I bet they can help.

The other big variable is where you live. You'll pay a bunch more in Newark, NJ than you will in Middle Of Nowhere, KS.
