In the UK I have been told that you can drive a Reliant Rialto (3 wheeler - classed as a tricycle) on a motorcycle and a car license but I was wondering if this is true?
Additional Details
The engine is an 850cc and if it matters I passed 2 and a half years ago (car and bike license at rougly the same time)

A trike can be ridden on a motorcycle license,as can a robin reliant.I am not sure though if this is only the case if they do not have a reverse gear! |

If you have a full Category A (motorcycle) licence, or a full Category B (car) licence, you will automatically have Category B1 (trike) entitlement as well.
In other words, having either a car or bike licence will allow you to drive a trike. |

Yes.....3-wheelers and some 4-wheelers like the Microcar can be driven on a motorbike license and a full car license.

Although the rules will be changing in 2008 or so they predict a motorcycle trike can be driven on your car entitlement providing it covers B1 entitlement. This B1 covers motor tricycles and quadracycles. If your licence does not carry B1 but 0nly B then you will have the need to pass a motor cycle test before being able to ride a trike
All a bit complicated but as I said in 2008 it will be all much clearer. They propose to change things for the better. Where have I heard this before |
