Insurance rates are based in losses, if the insurance industry has a lot of claims the underwriters raise the price of the individual policies, on your side you can drive carefully not to have tickets, also age is a factor as well as lenght of driving in the particular State..☺ |

Some other the top factors:
1. Age
2. Married or Single
3. Credit score (this is big for some companies)
4. Driving record (obviously)
5. Where you live and if you garage your car
6. Safety record of your car
Raising deductibles will lower premium, paying premium upfront can also lower the price for some companies.

Some states allow you to take a safe driver's course to improve your rates; I had to take the course as part of my training as a summer camp counselor. My rates went down a little.
But now I just make sure to call around every year. If you always look for the best deal, you can usually find teaser rates that are lower than your current rate.
It's a free market; as long as you are a safe driver, the insurance companies wnat you paying their premiums. Shop around! |

Believe it or not comparison shopping can save you a lot of money. Auto Insurance companies can have rates that vary by up to $600.00. A good place to shop is http://www.nationwidebillrelief.com they have top rated companies fighting for your business. Other things to think about would be raising your deductible, take a defensive driving course, consider different coverages. |

Factors That Impact Your Rates
Deductible: This is the amount of money that you pay out of your own pocket if you get in an accident
Age: Younger, less experienced drivers have higher insurance rates.
Gender: Men have higher rates than women.
Demographics: People living in high-crime areas pay more than those living in low-crime areas.
Claims: Accident-prone drivers pay more. If you want to keep your rates low, keep the number of claims that you file to a minimum.
Moving Violations: Speeding and other moving violations all have a negative impact on your insurance bill. Obey the law to help keep your rates from rising.
Vehicle Choice: Sports cars cost more to insure than sedans, and expensive cars cost more to insure than cheap ones do. Looking into the cost of insurance before you purchase that new car could help you save a bundle on your car insurance.
Driving Habits: The number of miles that you drive, whether or not you use your car for work, and the distance between your home and work all play a role in determining your rates.
Theft Deterrent Systems: If you have an alarm on your car, you'll pay less to insure your vehicle.
Safety Devices: Air bags and anti-lock brakes both work in your favor by keeping you safer and lowering your insurance bill.
Accident Prevention Training: Some companies offer discounts if you take a driver's education training course.
Multiple Policies: If you have more than one car and/or also have homeowner or renter's insurance, keep in mind that many insurance companies offer discounts based on the number of policies that you have with them.
Payment Plan: Some insurance companies offer discounts based on your payment plan. Paying your entire yearly bill at one time, instead of in installments, may lead to a discount.
Credit Score: Good credit lowers your car insurance rates. Bad credit increases them.
Cheap car insurance is best found by investing time, educating yourself and comparison shopping. To get multiple quotes at once from top companies go to:

The best thing to remember about insurance is the more risk you are willing and ABLE to take, (ie Higher deductibles) the lower the cost of insurance. If you have used the car as colatteral for a loan, the lender will have limits on how high the deductible can be, typically not more than $500. Be sure you chose a limit you can handle and not have to sell you soul to get the car from the body shop. |

You can reduce your auto insurance premiums by increasing the amount of your deductible. You will also get a discount if you insure more than one vehicle and/or your home with the same insurance company. If your household has any young drivers in it, you can reduce your rates if your son/daughter has good grades. Consult with your insurance agent about the coverage you carry. You may be able to drop collision if your car is older, has lots of miles on it, and you don't owe anything on it. You also can get a discount if you always use your seat belts, have anti-lock brakes, and have an anti-theft device in your car. These are just some of the discounts we've been eligible for and your insurance agent will be able to go over the list with you to see which you qualify for. |
