What will happan to me?

hi,folks. i have just gained my 1st driving license two months ago. however, because of a old convict, i was recently being sentenced to get 6 points on my driving license. my solicitor told me i may or may not get a letter says my driving license will be revoked. and i am still qualified to drive the car till i receive the letter.
I received the letter today from DVLA. i expected to received that letter. surprisingly, i received my driving license with 6 points off but no such letter.
I totally confused about that. is that mean my driving license are still qualify? or, something else? Additional Details Sorry about the mistakes in spelling. I am a foreign student. i will take more exercise. Sorry.

In the UK, The New Drivers Act in 1995, means if a person in the two years after passing their first practical test accumulates six penalty points, their licence is revoked by the DVLA and the driver has to reapply and pay for the provisional licence, drive as a learner, and pay for and take the theory and practical tests again before being allowed to drive on their own. So I guess as the 6 points predated passing the test for the first time they are not relevant, except that if you again incurr 6 points your total will be 12 at which point you will have your license revoked, until you pass a test again but you will in addition, almost certainly have your provisional license revoked for a period of 12 months .
As regards insurance the offence carries 8 points so it seems likely this was not taken into consideration and if your present insurance covered green card or driving in other countries including your homeland then you have not misled the company by using your own full non UK license. |

If you got the 6 points for an offence committed before you did your peractical driving test you should of sat an extended test. And since you didn't do an extended test your test result will be invalid as you should of booked an extended test. If your driving licence is invalid your insurance (if you have any) will be invalid too. The best advice that I can give you is don't drive until it is sorted out as you may end up in serious trouble should you get stopped by the police or have an accident.
You could try ringing the DVLA and being honest and explaining the whole situation to them. Good luck, sounds as if you will need it. |

You've got yourself a loophole pardon the says any convictions during a probationary period AFTER passing your test will result in your licence being revoked .
Your conviction relates to an offence committed before you passed your test .
Well done but be careful it won't happen again . |

Basically you got caught with an out of date licence and a foreign one at that. OK so you've passed your test in the mean time and gained a new VALID Licence.
Basically the 6 points you have gained will go onto you new licence (you will have to send this off to the courts so that they can put these points onto your licence.)
You are still in-titled to drive with points on your licence, however once you reach 10 points, your licence will be revoked and you will not be able to drive (you will be banned).
The only downside to having points on your licence is that this will push up your insurance premiums higher and therefore will be more costly to insure you car in the future.
Depending on what type of points you have been given, these will stay on your licence for around 3-5 years. So basically, you will have to be very care full in your driving for the future, so as not to get done by the police for anything else ! |

this means they might have dropped the points off of it,id just wait it out,and see what happens next, there's a good chance you might have gotten them took off,but id really be care full until i knew for sure what has happened, and if they are taken off then this means you got really lucky, but be care full,as of right now there good so id be the best driver i could be ,and maybe they wont send you the letter, good luck i hope this help,s. |

unless either the court disqualified you or you received a letter from dvla telling you your license has been revolked then you should be ok you can log onto dvla online and e-mail them question regarding this or speak to your local police a quick check by them on pnc computer will list if your entitlement to drive is still valid
it is normal now for new drivers who get six penalty points within the first two years of driving to have their right to drive revolked and to have to resit another driving test you may have slipped through the net. |

Looks like you are okay. Make sure your insurance is good. |

The points you recived are most likely to be a combination for driving without a licence and no insurance. If DVLA were to revoke the licence it is most likely they would have done it when you sent your licence in to have the points added. Therefore, as the offence was comitted prior to becoming a full licence holder it would not be entirely sensical to remove your newly aquire licence for an offence commited prior to having it. You'd do well to ring them to clarify, however, if it affects you gaining any more points, for example, if you got three more would they revoke it. Obviously 6 more and you lose it anyway. As for worrying about ringing them in case they've made a mistake, if they have, they will have most likely already informed the police who would no doubt be attending at some point to seize it from you anyway. |
