What will happen if you get caught driving without a license, after a small crash?

As this question was posed on the UK/ireland page, I would expect that answers relating to states in the US won't be too helpful.
If the driver was, in fact, in Britain he will probably get a fine and three or more points on his licence. I know he hasn't yet got one but they will appear on any future licence he might get.
Having said that, his obviously cavalier attitude towards motoring law leads me to think that he will continue to drive as he has been doing, getting chased by the police, fined (which will probably be paid for by the taxpayer through his job-seekers allowance) until he kills either his passengers, an innocent pedestrian or himself.

He has made the situation worse by running away,which is more serious than driving without a license.If he never had a license then he also had no insurance .Insurance companies dont give cover to people without licences.If its his first conviction and he shows remorse in court then he will will be fined and possibly given community service.Try and influence your friend that his behaviour is unexceptable ,and if his accident would have been a major one he would be looking at a jail sentence and sleepless nights forever.

In the UK he will get enough points to get banned from driving as he has commit ed multiple offences.
Depending on his criminal record I would guess he will as a minimum get fined and unpaid work and at the worst a few weeks in the big house running away from the bigger boys who just will want to love him.

Not to be critical, but when people ask questions about traffic laws, drivers license, fines, punishment, evictions, gun laws, etc, they really need to include their state in the question. All 50 states have individual laws, and vary greatly. Somebody may answer your question with good intention. But if they are in a different state, it could be bad advise. But somebody who does live in your state, might be able to answer.

Generally, in most states, leaving the scene of an accident is a far worse offense than driving without a license. But either way it depends on why he had no license.

It depends on the State that he was driving in and what the laws are for that State.

In NY, leaving the scene of an accident can either be a traffic infraction (property damage only) or a misdemeanor (injury) or a felony (death). Also, the charge of operating without a license would be added; and the accident report would also note this and might change the balance of where the fault of the accident lays.

It depends on where this happened. Laws vary by state and country. Some states in the US he will just get a ticket. I think in Canada they will cut off his head.
