When is it okay to sign a release to the insurance company for damages?

The insurance adjuster wants me to sign a release for $700,that's fair considering that I didn't have any medical bills. The thing is,my car is still in the repair shop and I don't want to sign my rights away if it's not fixed to my satisfaction.Should I wait to sign after my car gets fixed or what?

It sounds like they want you to sign a release for your bodily injury claim- not your property damage claim. Considering you have no medical bills and i have seen your previous questions- i would consider you very lucky to get that 700 dollars and go ahead and sign the release and go buy something nice! All that release means is that you can no longer go after their insurance or the other driver for your medical bills in the future

Medical and property damage are not related by releases. You should be signing a med release only so ask the adjuster if that is what it is.

when an accident happened ,the insurance take the responsibility to fixed it if there is no franchise at the police in case it is all risk insurance.and usually u don't have to sign before u finish everything or they give u your car ,u agree and u sign a paper where its written that everything is ok and u took all your rights.

don't sign until the repairs are cmplete. that's a little trick of the trade that they pick up. don't fall prey to it.

Mark
Why do they want you to sign a release. hold off until you know it's fixed because may be the reason the damage is far worse than you know and the repair shop told the insurance company but not you.

The bodily injury settlement and release are not connected to your property damage claim. A general release will say both injury and property damage, but insurance companies normally do not apply the property damage language to your release and hold you to it. If you ask them and they tell you what I just did, you can trust them and you can sign the release and not worry about the vehicle damage. If you're really worried, ask them to put that in writing before you sign the release.

Do not sign any release until everything is fixed, and is working to your satisfaction. If more damage is found, and you have signed a release, that repair will be on you.
