My tax runs out on my Ford KA on 30th September, when would be the best time to buy it online do you think?

Any time up to two weeks before it runs out, by law you have to display a current tax disk if it is used or parked on a public road. |

Now, I would suggest. It will start from the 1st October, and you need to allow enough time for the disc to get to you if you use the post or apply online.
Be careful with any suggestions that it doesn't matter if you pay online but use the car after the 30th before you actually get the disk. It is an absolute offence for the car to be on the road without displaying a valid tax disc, there are no two ways about it. Either you are or you aren't. Quite possibly nothing will be done if you're caught, but you CANNOT rely on it.
That's why they send you the reminder in good time. |

best thing to do is to print out the confirmation and put it in your windscreen done this last month others with out of date got police notices but i didn't took about 3-4 days to arrive |

it takes about 3 days to come through, but i always wait until payday. as long as you have paid for it in time, you should be sweet. |

They say it can take up to 5 days to arrive, but mostly they come more quickly than that. I would get it this Thursday or Friday at the latest to allow for the weekend. |

You can do it on 30th September if you like, don't worry if it takes a while for your disc to arrive because your car is on their system as taxed from the moment you tax it online. Don't worry about the police they only report your car as not displaying tax disc to the DVLA. It is for the DVLA to take action and they will know you are legal |
