Where do you find a VIN number on your car?

could be on the drivers side corner of the windshield where it meets the dash pad, or the inside of the driver door, or the glovebox lid.

Usually under your windshield driver side of the care. You will have to be outside your car to see it.

on the drivers side of the dash...look through the windshield at the bottom of the windshield...there will be numbers at the very bottom...that is your vin# it will be a series of numbers and letters.

look through the windshield through the outside on the drivers side bottom. there will be a absense of black and there will be a metal plate in side it with the vin

Sometimes it is in the lower left hand corner of your windsheild. I have a Vlkswagon so it may be different.

I know of two places. One one driver side dashboard if your looking from the outside of your car, windshield. There should be a metal tag. I know this is on the older cars.
Second, sometimes on the driver side door in the jam there should be a sticker.
Check there.

look through your windshield (from outside of car) on the drivers side bottom corner. also its on a sticker inside the drivers door jamb. also on the title, on the registration and it might be in the engine compartment depending on the model of car. oh, and on your insurance card.

It's located on your dash on the drivers side, just look through your windshield from the outside in the lower right hand corner.

Most of the answers I have read are correct. However, the VIN is 17 digits. 1's are always ones, not l's (els). And the 0's are always zeros, not o's (ohs). Most of the digits tell you something about the vehicle. As an example, the first digit tells you the country of origin. The 10th digit tells you the model year, etc.

Any car built from 1968 will have it's Vehicle Identification number on the lower left hand side of the dashboard.
You can also find it on the major inside body panels on newer cars as per Federal Government edict to stymie chop shops.
