Where do you go when you dicover that your name and ssn shows up in a state you've never been?

where do I go to find out, with out haveing a big hassle.

You need to alert the three credit bureaus that you may be a victim of fraud.
Experian: 888.397.3742
Equifax: 800.525.6285
TransUnion: 800.680.7289

If you call one of these numbers they will contact the other two for you and put a fraud alert on your credit report. They will each send you contact info in the mail and you can request a copy of your credit reports to look for any irregularities.
This just recently happened to me. Someone tried to use my name and SSN to attempt to buy 4 Verizon cell phones and accounts to ship them to Miami. Luckily Verizon contacted me to verify the purchase.

Shows up how? Like someone there is using it? if it is not authorized to use it then contact the authorities. you could be looking at identity theft.

if you've got a sister or aquaintance who has been there, ask them about it. then contact the authorities and credit bureau and report it.
