Neither:
I switched from allstate to the cheap no frills esurance. Someone rear ended my car and totalled it 3 months after I bought it and esurance paid for, and handled everything. I was driving a new car the day after they totalled it. Since I bought my car at the end of the 2005 model year I got a 2006 to replace it.
I love esurance, you can change or add to your policy online, you can print your insurance cards and access your entire account. They are dirt cheap in price, however, I will admit that trying to get a hold of a live person can be trying, but for the price, nothing beats it.

If you are basing it on price, get quotes online at their websites. If you are basing it on service, etc. go to a website that compares and rates service based on what customers say. |

I heard that all state is mostly for accident prone drivers. If you are not, you are paying higher rates for nothing. I use Geico. |

None of these answers doing it for you?
Sometimes none of the answers get it just right. If so, pick "No Best Answer".
Voters DO NOT get any points for voting on the No Best Answer. |

Liberty Mututal. But you gotta be a good driver, that's how they keep the cost low.
They did "accident forgiveness" before Allstate anounced it in the commercial. Had a run in with a deer and my car lost !! That was my first accident and they didn't count it. |

depends on which provides better service and better selection. also look at customer assistance. are they open 24 hours? do they personally take care of ur claim? are there offices close to where u live? etc. price is a big thing too, but for a few dollars more why not get better service! |

The cheapest is probably statefarm but if you ever get into an accident allstate does not give you the run around like state farm and if you don't have an accident for each year they will pay 100 twards your deductable if you ever do |

It depends on location. Where I'm at State Farm is MUCH less expensive for preferred risk customers (those with clean driving records and few claims). An independent insurance agent here even advised I stop searching for a better deal when he found I was currently insured with State Farm. |
