Contact the other driver's insurance company yourself. They are trying to low-ball you. Find a body shop down there in GA. Tell the insurance company that is who is fixing it and have them pay the full bill on it.

You need to talk w/an adjuster from YOUR company ASAP. Many policies have a provision that EXCULDES mechanics from your policy if it is involved in a loss.

If you have insurance you turn the report over to your insurance company. They reimburse you for the damage minus your deductible. If the accident happened outside the shop you file a report with the police dept of the city and forward a copy to your insurance company. Your insurance company will contact the other parties insurance[ the shop and the other driver] to be re-imbursed for the damage they paid you to get fixed.

regardless of who's at fault, the repair shop is responsible to take care of your car. The repair shop that was driving your car is liable ask them for the name of their insurance co.
Call and talk to your insurance agent, they might be able to help without filling a claim. When I was once in an accident the other co was giving me the run around, I talked to my agent, they called the other insurance co and they got me a rental car and repairs started. My insurance co never paid a dime my car got fixed I got restitution and I never had to file a claim against my insurance. Sometimes it helps to have someone with a better under standing of it to deal with it. My rates weren't affected at all. After all that's what you pay them for; Good Luck!!!

not too sure about in the states but in canada the repair shop is responsible as well as the driver, it's called care and control while fixing an automotive vehicle
it should not cost you anything including deductible
the shop is trying to get out of this due to the fact most repair shops have a very high deductible
from an honest automotive service individual
this would never happen in a shop i work in
not only would i have made arrangements to have your vehicle repaired but if required paid for a rental while yours is unavailable
this the cost of doing business and i want my clientelle to stay mine by providing good service and being honest

whether it was the mechanic (then the comany would be at fault and would have to pay through there insurance)

or the other driver..then there insurance is responsibile..
