To Threepointstar. While New Hampshire doesn't have a law on the books requiring auto insurance per se, they do require you take financial responsibility for any at fault accident.
New Hampshire Auto Insurance Laws
New Hampshire operates under the Tort system. In the event of an automobile accident for which you are at fault, claims for bodily injury or property damage arising from that accident may be filed against you.
New Hampshire law does not require you to have automobile insurance. However, you must satisfy the NH Financial Responsibility requirements to operate a vehicle in New Hampshire. These minimum limits are 25/50/25: bodily injury of $25,000 per person; $50,000 for 2 or more persons; and Property Damage of $25,000. A $75,000 single limit policy will also satisfy the minimum requirement.
Unless you have the cash to be self insured, it would be a good idea to have a policy meeting their minimum requirements. |

Some states are not mandatory insurance states, but basically require insurance (if that makes any sense). I don't understand the question, so that's all I've got. |

its not required in all states. some people never went to get their license, maybe they cant pass the test but they drive anyway. some people cant afford insurance or think they need it. it really should be mandatory. if someone damages your car and they dont have insurance they feel they dont have to pay. |
