a lot of big companies (and smaller) have their remit address in other than their own state. why?

It's called a dropbox and they do it for several reasons, but usually it's to get your payments processed quicker and the money in their bank. |

It may be a satellite office of their own or a payment processing firm that does the work for them. That way, the company doesn't have to invest in computers and employees and has a fixed fee for the work. |
