In the UK the answer is yes however if you got the points before you actually got your license and a period of longer that 12 months has elapsed since you acquired those points then no taking into account the points will actually be on your licence for up to 5 years but be careful as if you do go to court and you have shown repeated fines or points they will not take too kindly |

Yes, you will get banned if you reach 6 points within two years of passing your test, this includes any points you may have received before passing your test. You will have to re-apply for your provisional licence after the ban and retake both parts of the driving test.
One light at the end of the tunnel though is if you are about to reach 6 points via the fixed penalty system, a police officer cannot issue a fpn it if results in an automatic ban, It HAS to go via the courts, i.e. if you have 3 points and get caught running a red light, you have to be reported for summons and go to court. A police officer cannot impose an automatic ban. |

if they don't ban you they should. 1st 2 years of driving any you already have violations. Learn from your mistakes. And if you loose your license don't be an idiot and drive anyway. deal with public transportation and bumming rides from everyone, you'll appreciate having your license more. remember having a driver's license is a privilege not a right don't do stupid things to loose it. |

Probably not (depending on the state), your ins co. will drill you a new as*hole though, especially if they are "Moving Violations", see if you can take a 6 hr defensive driving course, it can reduce up to 2 pts, or lower your ins. premium 15% wich ever one you choose (Sorry, no meal combos'), Check with the "National Safety councile". |

depends on where you live......I'd think very carefully if i were you, if you get banned it's likely you will have to take all the tests again and believe me its getting alot harder to pass now, not even mentioning how much it will cost you again! |

You could get a ban, it depends what your offence/offences are to get the points. You will definately have your licence taken off you though which then means you will then have to re-take your Theory Test followed by a Driving Test again before you will get a full licence back.....if not banned you will be classed as a provisional licence holder and will only be able to drive as a learner until you have passed your test again....then you need to behave and enjoy the skill of diving!!! |

i think you need 9 points to be automatically banned.
as long as you have informed your insurance company of the points you do have, if they still intend to insure you & you can afford the premiums, you are perfectly legal to drive. |

You will have to re-sit your driving test - theroy and practical |

You will definitely have your licence revoked in the UK. It would mean that you have to go through the whole driving test - theory and practical. After two years, normal rules apply. |

No - you will not get banned but you will be revoked under the new drivers act 1995. You will have to apply for a provisional licence again and take a theroy and practical test again.
If you have not already got the 6 points it would be worth you going to court and asking them to either give you 5 points or to ban you for a period of time under 55 days. That way you will not have to sit your theroy and practical test again. |
