Ok my insurer RSA have done very little regarding an accident that happend in december 09. I was not to blame and helphire have already confirmed this when taken the accident details as my broker advised to go through them first. But the third party are now disputing it because it took RSA 6 months to even do anything about this. The third party had said they contacted mine and had no reply and tried to make me pay £702! direct to them (***) . Helphire passed along all details to RSA back in December for them to continue but they did nothing at all.
Now at the time i had a 3k milage limit and my policy is up in november. I have now reached this limit this 6 months on (june) and asked for a quote to increase to maybe 6k, im told to add the extra 3k it will cost me more tan double the original premuim for a full year!
So now i am wanting to change policy providers and have quotes back in the normal realm of what they should be.
My questions is this, if i move my policy now, will RSA still act on my behalf for the accident in December and will they act properly and seek to fight my case?

if you lose the case, your insurance provider at the time of the incident will have to pay up, so chances are they will continue to "fight" your case even though it seems they aren't trying much right now.
so can you move to another policy? most providers will ask about your existing claims and an unsettled one may cause problems. get few quotes and see how it goes. |

They will not act on your behalf if you move your Policy, and I advise you to contact the Insurance Ombudsman about the length of time they are taking to settle your claim. You can get the Insurance Ombudsman Address from any Insurance company, or ask your insurers to give you the details. |
